for planning alternative career paths

“Perspektiven für Geistes- und SozialwissenschaftlerInnen” (perspectives for academics in the humanities and social sciences - starting a career after completing your (doctoral) studies)

Academics in the humanities and social sciences are all-rounders, with many more career possibilities than at first glance. For this very reason, it can also pose a particular challenge for these academics to join the workforce, and good preparation is key to success.
During this information event (in German), hear from our Career Service and Academic Staff Development teams about possible fields of employment, opportunities and challenges for joining the workforce after graduating (with a doctorate).

“Perspektiven außerhalb der Wissenschaft”
(career perspectives beyond academia - developing career options)

Starting to investigate possible career paths while you are pursuing your university degree will help you be able to systematically evaluate your options and possibilities. Take the time during this workshop (in German) to specify and evaluate your future plans - whether you would like to pursue a career in academia while planning alternative options that offer you more security and freedom or would like to earn a doctorate and take on a position in business and society. In this workshop held in German, our goal is to assist you with developing your own, individual career plans and not simply to attempt to provide a patent recipe for a “successful career”. You will be introduced to new information and, above all, have plenty of time to reflect on and develop your ideas into a more specific, step-by-step career concept.

Take this opportunity to develop a career perspective that fits you.
