The University of Konstanz places a high value on social diversity. It establishes a discrimination-free, inclusive climate. Diversity, anti-discrimination and inclusion are common pillars of a vision: The University creates better opportunities for all members and promotes equal access and participation in all areas of performance. In doing so, it increases its attractiveness as a place to learn, teach, research and work, also for future generations.
Anti-discrimination and diversity are two sides of the same coin: On the one hand, diversity work includes offers that provide individual support to compensate for existing disadvantages. On the other hand, institutional barriers are removed in order to promote inclusive opening processes.
In addition to the General Equal Treatment Act, the University of Konstanz bases its anti-discrimination work on its own guidelines against discrimination and its Diversity Code. For individual counselling, the Diversity Team has developed a set of standards for anti-discrimination counselling as a first point of contact for internal use.
