Roundtable for Diversity of Academic Careers – Transitioning Between Systems
This upcoming roundtable will focus on the challenges and barriers academics face when transitioning between different academic systems, positions, and countries.
We will discuss not just mobility from the global south to western countries but also vice versa.
First participants will explore personal experiences of transitioning from positions like PhD to Post-Doc and the complexities of moving from one country's academic system to another. The discussion will aim to uncover the common hurdles that arise in navigating these diverse academic environments.
Second, the roundtable will shift to a broader analysis of the systemic barriers that exist in academic transitions. Participants will examine how these obstacles affect global collaboration, with a particular focus on partnerships with the Global South.
The event will take place on 5 December 2024 from 11 am to 1 pm (room Y213).
