Study programmes of several departments successfully reaccredited

In order to ensure and improve the quality of the degree programmes, regular monitoring procedures are carried out. The degree programmes in the departments of Linguistics, Literature, Art and Media Studies, Chemistry and Computer and Information Science have now been successfully reaccredited.

A thorough evaluation has been carried out in the departments over the past few months. In addition to the elementary tasks of the department (research, teaching, early career staff development, internationalisation and equal opportunities), the monitoring procedures also focused on strategy development and further profile building. Particular attention was paid to the conceptual design of the degree programmes. While Linguistics and Literature, Art and Media Studies were also subject to an external review (peer review cycle), Chemistry and Computer Science were subject to an internal review (rectorate cycle).

On the one hand, the procedures were based on monitoring reports in which data from various surveys (e.g. student survey Sag's uns!, exmatriculation survey, graduate survey) and other key figures were analysed. On the other hand, the departments prepared a self-assessment.

Based on this, a selected group of external peer reviewers (professors, labour market representatives, students) conducted interviews with different status groups of the respective faculty during a two-day inspection at the University of Konstanz. The entire process was coordinated by the Quality Management Unit. The Rectorate has now awarded the accreditation certificate for the successfully completed peer review cycles to the study programmes that were reviewed. The accreditation is valid backdated from 01.01.2024 to 31.03.2032.

In the Rectorate cycles, the assessment was carried out internally by the ALW and the accreditation is valid until 31 March 2028.
