Water research: Visit the research ship in the harbor of Konstanz
The forum.konstanz, the Limnological Institute and the vhs are offering a cooperation event with a visit to the research ship, where water samples can be examined using binoculars and a microscope. The event will take place on April 27th at 2 p.m. in the harbor of Konstanz.
The research vessel "Robert Lauterborn" is used weekly by the Limnological Institute at the University of Konstanz to take various water and plankton samples from Lake Constance. We invite you to visit the ship in Konstanz harbor and examine water samples yourself using binoculars and a microscope and discover the fascinating world of zooplankton, algae and bacteria. In addition, the various sampling devices and multi-parameter probes on board are explained and the data sets collected are presented. Anyone aged 12 and over who can independently climb a vertical rung ladder on board can take part. The event takes place at the harbor pier. The meeting point is in front of the fence at the seaward end of SeaLife Konstanz.
