Chemistry – Bachelor of Science

Undergraduate study programme leading to a first degree and providing qualifications and skills for future employment. In some study programmes, you can also select Chemistry as a minor subject.

Chemistry is concerned with all aspects of the transformation of matter, including the possibility of producing new, previously unknown substances. This means that chemistry plays a central role in the natural sciences, the technical sciences and medicine. Our Bachelor's Programme in Chemistry provides you with solid, broad-based foundations in the core subjects of inorganic, organic and physical chemistry, as well as the best preparation for a subsequent master’s degree. At Konstanz, the key research areas in the Department of Chemistry range from contemporary inquiries in the life sciences to current aspects of materials sciences. One of the major elements in our bachelor's programme is the strong emphasis on practical training in the laboratory.
