Förderkreis Konstanz – Tel Aviv: Promoting collaboration between the universities in Konstanz and Tel Aviv
In 1987, the universities in Konstanz and Tel Aviv concluded a cooperation agreement with the goal of promoting academic collaboration in research. Shortly thereafter, the Kreuzlingen entrepreneur and later honorary Senator of the University of Konstanz, Kurt Lion, along with his family and friends, established the Lion Foundation for the purpose of promoting collaboration between the two universities.
At the same time, the Förderkreis Konstanz – Tel Aviv (FKT) e.V. was founded in Konstanz to support student exchanges between the universities. These activities made it possible to build bridges between young people in Israel and Germany.
Today, the Förderkreis Konstanz – Tel Aviv (FKT) provides scholarships for students from Tel Aviv University to support them while studying at the University of Konstanz.
