The Commission for Responsibility in Research works on the basis of the University of Konstanz’s rules for a responsible approach to research freedom and research risks. It advises on matters of research ethics and gives its opinion if a research project is thought to fall short of the university’s rules for responsible scientific conduct. The commission further mediates between researchers in case of differences of opinion about research ethics. It can also give recommendations on how to carry out research projects responsibly.
