Data sessions are an essential part of qualitative research and play an important role in early, middle and late stages of a research process. In a data session, interpretation work is carried out in a group with other researchers and, if necessary, with experts in the research field, on the basis of empirical data and depending on the particular knowledge interest and theoretical perspective. The types of data used in this process can be of a varying nature, including: Audio or video recordings and transcripts, interviews and transcripts, observation protocols, artifacts, and texts and documents from the field.
