It is not always easy to decide which type of provision is best for whom and when. This usually depends on the activities or hazards that occur during certain activities or that may emanate from different substances. Similar to risk assessment, precautionary measures are taken after the activities with ... are assessed. It cannot therefore be said in general terms that an activity involves only one particular hazard, or that a particular hazard occurs in only one particular activity.
In one work area there are often many hazards and vice versa a certain hazard often occurs in many different work areas. So how do we get from here?
Reasons for precaution
What was previously referred to as the principle of occupational medical check-ups is now more precisely referred to as a reason for provision. This avoids the somewhat misleading term "examination". Nevertheless, the terms "principle" and "examination" will still occasionally appear, especially when registering for occupational health screening. But then you will know what this means.
