The Equal Opportunity Representative (for non-academic staff) is responsible for the university’s more than 1000 academic support staff, 600 of whom are women. They work in administration, the Scientific Engineering Services (Wissenschaftliche Werkstätten) and technical and engineering services, laboratories, the Library and the university’s departments. The representative’s work is based on equal opportunity legislation passed by the state of Baden-Württemberg as well as the university’s equal opportunity plan. In this plan, the university commits to promoting equal opportunity among men and women working in the academic support services. The Equal Opportunity Representative (for non-academic staff) develops suitable equal opportunity measures and supports the university’s relevant units in implementing them.
