The University of Konstanz will be awarding Deutschlandstipendium scholarships for the Summer Semester 2025. Presumably, up to 35 new scholarships can be awarded to outstanding students. The number of scholarships to be awarded can change depending on future donations to the scholarship fund. For a few scholarships the support begins from Winter Semester 2025/26 on.
The scholarship recipients will be identified after a multi-stage application and selection process during the Winter Semester 2024/25.
You can only apply online. If you make it to the second round of the selection process you will have to submit written documents that support and complete the information you have submitted online. A personal selection interview will take place in the third round of the selection process.
The application period begins on 1st September 2024 and ends on 31st October 2024 (cut-off date).
The actual funding period begins on 1st April 2025 or 1st October 2025. The scholarship amounts to 300 euros per month. To begin with, it is awarded for up to two semesters. On request it can be extended for the entire standard period of study in the respective study programme.
The requirements for receiving the scholarship, include enrolment or admission to university study in an undergraduate or graduate study programme with the goal of graduating at the University of Konstanz. Doctoral students, visiting students and non-degree seeking students cannot receive the scholarship.
A selection committee determines the scholarship recipient. The selection decision is based first and foremost on your academic (or school) accomplishments measured by the grade point averages of the candidates. Additionally, community service, special personal or family circumstances, such as overcoming personal educational obstacles, and financial need are taken into account.
The scholarship is not dependent on financial income and can be combined with BAföG. Funding is not possible when you simultaneously receive gifted- or academic performance-related financial support that amounts to more than an average of 30 euros per month and per semester. A legal claim to this scholarship does not exist.
The basis for the scholarship award is comprised of provisions of the scholarship programme statute as well as the scholarship programme regulations of the federal republic and the award guidelines of the scholarship fund of the University of Konstanz.
