Germany is experiencing hectic weeks in terms of migration policy. In politics, what was unthinkable just a short time ago seems possible now. The substantive core of asylum law, however, is comparatively stable. Legislative changes would require a long time, especially as radical reforms would also have to change, besides EU legislation, European and international human rights treaties.
