Die Universität Konstanz verabschiedet als eine der ersten deutschen Universitäten eine Open Science Policy und erklärt damit ein erweitertes Verständnis von offener Wissenschaftskultur zu einem ihrer Leitkonzepte.

Ever since publishing two pertinent studies, her telephone hasn't stopped ringing: Behavioural economist and psychologist Dr. Katrin Schmelz explains diverse aspects of society's readiness to comply with containment measures and get vaccinated (mandatorily or voluntarily), in the press, radio and on TV.

Kathryn Hahn-Madole from the USA (M.Sc. SEDS) and Christian Græns Mende from Denmark (M.A. PolVer) have received the VEUK award for honorable international full-time students in 2021. The Alumni Association of the University of Konstanz VEUK awards three prizes á 200 Euro each year to honor special efforts of exchange students and foreign students. The workshops offer cutting-edge, inclusive, and affordable methodological training in both qualitative and quantitative research design and techniques for PhD students and postdocs. Courses take place from March 10-11 (online preparatory course) and March 14-18, 2022 (online and in-person) at the University of Konstanz — beautifully situated at Lake Konstanz, close to the Alps and near the border to Switzerland and Austria.

The conference will take place on June 8 – 10 at the LUISS University in Rome, where Eva Thomann and Jonathan Zeitlin will co-chair the section “Regulatory Governance in the European Union”. The section invites panels and paper proposals on current trends and transformations of EU regulatory governance. The application deadline is December 15.

Katrin Schmelz is a psychologist and behavioral economist at the Cluster of Excellence “The Politics of Inequality” at the University of Konstanz and the Thurgau Economic Institute (TWI) investigating the factors that influence decision-making during the pandemic.

Rafael Labanino, Michael Dobbins and Brigitte Horváth were distinguished with the “Best Paper Award” from the Standing Group of Interest Groups of the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR).
