For the past few years, one can observe increased interest in combining visualization with new user interface technologies, such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). While immersive visualizations are usually implemented in VR, situated visualizations are grounded in the real world and, therefore, implemented in AR. With a mobile AR display, the user is freed from having to bring the data to the workplace and, instead, may go where the data belongs.

Prof. Timo Müller is co-editor of Our Shared Planet: The Environment Issue, a special issue of the American Studies Journal (AMSJ). To celebrate the launch of the special issue, the publisher is hosting a panel discussion with Prof. Müller and the other editors on November 30, 2021, 8.00 pm Konstanz time. The Zukunftskolleg is pleased to announce a new call for Zukunftskolleg Konnect (ZUKOnnect) Fellowships. The ZUKOnnect Fellowships support early career researchers from Africa, Asia and Latin America related to one of the thirteen departments of the University of Konstanz. Application deadline is 15 February 2022.

Der Lehrpreis der Universität Konstanz (LUKS), mit dem Studierende der Universität jedes Jahr die beste Lehre in ihrem Fachbereich honorieren, wurde im Rahmen des Dies academicus verliehen.
Im Jahr 2020 ging der Preis an Prof. Dr. Valentin Wittmann.
Im Jahr 2021 ging der Preis an Dr. Inigo Göttker.
