Claudia Diehl appointed to expert commission
Cluster Co-spokeswoman, Claudia Diehl, was appointed to an expert commission to deal with the major challenges facing the French economy.
On 29th May a video conference organised by French President Emmanuel Macron brought together a commission of experts on the major economic challenges: climate change, inequality and demographic change. The 26-member commission includes renowned economists from France, Europe and the USA and is to carry out its work completely independently. From Germany, Claudia Diehl, Professor of Microsociology at the University of Konstanz and Axel Börsch-Supan from the Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy in Munich, are two experts working on demographic change in the Commission.
In all three areas, crucial questions for the future and the prosperity of nations are raised, to which new economic solutions are needed, especially in those economies that have been severely affected by the COVID crisis.
The Commission's objective is to make recommendations in December 2020 on how these major challenges can be met.
