The data report "Student Sentiment on Sustainability" presents the results of the focus on sustainability from the student survey “Sag's uns!” 2022. This was compiled by the Staff Unit Quality Management in cooperation with the student-run Green Office (GO). The report reflects the current student perspective on the topic of sustainability and is intended to support the development of future measures.
Key findings of the survey:
- Almost unanimously (93 %), environmental protection and climate change are considered " among the most important challenges of our time".
- The greatest barriers "from living in a more environmentally conscious way" for students are financial reasons (69 %), their own convenience (53 %) and lack of time (49 %).
- 55 % of students are aware of the Green Office, 23 % of students are aware of the "Sustainable Development Working Group".
- The students' wish for a weekly meat-free day in the Mensa is very clear (87 % approval), and a two-thirds majority also advocates for a weekly vegan day.
