Girls Do Science (Schülerinnen Forschen)

From 12th to 14th of October 2022 ten female high school students took part in a science camp at the University of Konstanz organised jointly by the Departments of Physics (coordination), Mathematics, Informatics and Chemistry.

Thursday morning, 13th of October belonged to the mathematics. In two interactive lectures students learnt where math can be found in everyday life. It is the mathematics that makes it possible, for example, to create the weather forecasts or to use online banking securely thanks to data encryption. Participating girls had alsoan opportunity to try out some applications in a playful way, for example by encrypting and decrypting messages be the means of  prime numbers.
