New in Konstanz: Professor Sebastian Findeisen
Professor for political economy
Welcome to our department, Professor Findeisen! What drew you to your new position in Konstanz?
I had studied in Konstanz from 2003 to 2008, and this experience definitely laid the foundation for my academic career. Our department offers excellent research with a strong commitment to high-quality teaching. This is a combination that is difficult to find elsewhere. It is a real honour for me to return to my alma mater and contribute to the research and excellent teaching here in the Department of Economics.
This winter semester you will mainly be teaching courses in the master's programme and the Graduate School of Decision Sciences. Will you also be teaching bachelor’s courses in the summer semester? If so, which courses are you most excited about teaching?
I am really looking forward to the introductory course in economics (“Einführung in die VWL”) that I will be teaching with Friedrich Breyer. Introductory courses are really something special. I look forward to teaching other bachelor’s courses in the future.
Which of your experiences as a student was particularly meaningful to you?
I think back fondly of several parties and long evenings...but also, of course, of my many microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics lectures!
