Alice el-Wakil (Postdoctoral Fellow / Politics and Public Administration) has been appointed as assistant professor in Political Theory at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark.

Anamaria Bentea is one of our new Research Fellows from the 16th call for applications for fellowships. She has started her fellowship in August and is affiliated with the Department of Linguistics.

Yuko Ulrich is a biologist from the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology in Jena. She convinced the jury with her research on the interaction between social organization and disease resistance in social insects.

Jacob Bloomfield (Literature), Gabriella Gall (Biology) and Noelia Martinéz Doallo (Law) take part in an Improvisation theatre at the Long Night of the Sciences on 14 May.

We are happy to announce that Krizler Tanalgo - former ZUKOnnect Fellow and affiliate member of the Centre for the Advanced Study of Collective Behaviour (CASCB) - has published one of the first and largest databases for bat cave conservation in Nature's Scientific Data.

We say Goodbye and Farewell to our ZUKOnnect and Herz cohort of 2021/22, who finished their on-campus research stays at the University of Konstanz in the past months.

Results of the 2021 Constructive Advanced Thinking (CAT) programme

We have received 200 applications within the latest call for ZUKOnnect Fellowships (application deadline was on 15 February 2022).

The 16th Fellowship call has closed. In its meetings on 27/28 January, 2022 and 17/18 February 2022, the Recruitment Committee selected three new 2-year Postdoctoral Fellows and decided on four candidates to be offered a 5-year Research Fellowship.

Philipp di Dio is the final of the new Research Fellows from the 15th call for applications. He has started his fellowship in March and is affiliated with the Department of Mathematics and Statistics.

The Zukunftskolleg has introduced a new research prize: The Zukunftskolleg Research Award aims to acknowledge outstanding young researchers and support their careers.

In the Assembly of Members on 8 February, the fellows elected Ariane Bertogg (Postdoctoral Fellow / History and Sociology) to serve as new member in the Executive Committee.

The first Recruitment Committee meeting of the 16th Fellowship Selection Process has taken place on 27-28 January 2022.

We congratulate Mohsen Jenadeleh (Associated Fellow / Computer and Information Science) who has received a 3-year grant from the German Research Foundation (DFG) for his project „JND-based perceptual video quality analysis and modelling“.
