Manfred Ulmer Fellowship 2024 for ZUKOnnect Fellow Elisa María Sol Porcel

This year's Manfred Ulmer Fellowship was awarded to ZUKOnnect Fellow Elisa María Sol Porcel during the Dies Academicus at the University of Konstanz on 4 July.

Elisa María is a biologist from Argentina researching the metabolism of ecosystems in lakes on the Strobel Lake Plateau in Argentina.
In a video interview with Giovanni Galizia, Elisa María explains how much her research is enriched by the exchange from lake to lake - Argentina and south-west Germany.

The Manfred Ulmer Fellowship is part of the ZUKOnnect Fellowship, which is aimed at early career researchers from Africa, Asia and South America.
Below you can see photos (by Philipp Uricher) from the award ceremony at the Dies Academicus on 4 July. Since Elisa María is not in Konstanz yet, the rector, Katharina Holzinger, and Tina Ulmer from the Manfred Ulmer Foundation handed over the certificate to her local host Frank Peeters.
